Japanese commercial land prices pick up steam

Commercial land prices in Japan logged a second straight year of gains, with foreign tourism boosting the value of properties in such hot spots as Kyoto and urban redevelopment feeding steady demand for office space.

In fact, according to land report as of July 1, average increase in commercial land in Kyoto hit 5.7% the top in the nationwide. Osaka is 5% in the second place.  Kyoto prefecture recorded the highest after the collapse of bubble economy.  A number of transactions has been closed with high price by hotel developers expecting increase of foreign tourism.
